Port Richey Man Arrested for Alleged Slaying of Teen on Valentine’s Day

A Port Richey man was arrested last week after Pasco County authorities say he fired a round into a vehicle last month that led to the death of a 14-year-old boy.

Deputies apprehended Steven Irizarry Marin on March 12 to respond to accusations that he killed Christian Robinson on St. Valentine’s Day. According to investigators, Robinson was riding in a blue Hyundai driven by Alexander McCarthy at around sunset that evening.

Investigators say Robinson piloted the Hyundai into a left turn onto Ridge Crest Drive from U.S. 19, with the Mazda of Marin close behind. Upon turning onto a cul-de-sac off of Ridge Crest Drive, authorities say Marin began firing at the vehicle.

Per Pasco County investigators, the report of several shots were clearly audible on surveillance recordings in the area. In addition, they allege finding evidence on Marin’s phone of web searches regarding homicide laws that were carried out within hours of the incident.

The 27-year-old native of Puerto Rico was booked into the Pasco County Jail on a single charge of second-degree murder. He is currently being held without bond.
