Hudson Man Charged with DUI and Leaving the Scene After Head-On Collision in Bayonet Point

A head-on collision and flight from the scene while inebriated are what a man hailing from Hudson is accused of by troopers of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Andrew J. Milos was arrested last Wednesday evening after officers say he navigated his 2012 Chevrolet sedan into another Chevy while he was turning left from State Road 52 east of Little Road in Bayonet Point.

The Chevy he allegedly struck was being driven by Shawn Peck of Port Richey, who was uninjured in the accident. Police say that both men exited their respective vehicles and agreed to clear the intersection and meet at a nearby parking lot in order to exchange information. However, Milos allegedly failed to uphold his end of that bargain, preferring to flee the scene in his wrecked vehicle.

Milos was apprehended shortly thereafter a few miles away. The 52-year-old native of Long Island was booked into Pasco County Jail early the next morning on charges of driving under the influence, DUI accident with property damage, and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. He was later released upon posting a $300 bond.
